Before you sketch up a concept, write it out.
Jumping straight into sketching often gets us caught up in distractions (like the sketch itself).
But if you define your concepts before you sketch them, you'll ensure they're of valuable product ideas worth pursuing.
Defining a concept can be as simple as answering these two questions:
What is it? (What is the big idea and the key features that deliver it?)
Why should they care? (What benefit does your concept offer your consumer?)
Bonus- Defining your concept first also tells you WHAT to sketch.
Is this process sexy? No.
Is going over time and budget developing a product no one wants sexy? Absolutely not!
